Yes indeed, ladies and gentlemen: it’s getting cold and dark, here in Glasgow. This picture was taken this morning, as D. was nearly to the office (he goes in for an hour on Monday mornings, before going off to the university). The moon was still up, the sun was still down (it comes up at 8 a.m. here now, and goes down at 6 p.m. – at least, until next weekend, when the time changes here), and he wished he’d been wearing gloves. And thermal underwear. It was somewhere in the neighborhood of 41\u00b0F \/ 5\u00b0C, and clear for about an hour.<\/p>\n

We are still coping with only having a little heater, and baking things daily to supplement the wee thing. It’s working out well enough, and we figure that we’ll be able to survive until they fix the boiler, provided they do so before it starts to get really<\/i> cold. We have a few weeks.<\/p>\n

Things are settling out in terms of D’s school schedule, and it’s looking like he’ll be able to limit his on-campus time to Monday and Tuesday (soon), leaving him the rest of the week to work and do research. This is good, because he’s been going without a break for weeks now, and feeling the strain.<\/p>\n

T is still working away on her latest and greatest novel, with high hopes of wrapping it up before the Christmas Vacation. At least, she hopes she’ll get it shuffled off to her editor before then, so that she can put it out of her mind for a few weeks and relax. Here’s hoping!<\/p>\n
