We’ve been a bit absent from this blog for awhile. We blame it on the sun, which comes up at some unholy hour of the morning, to shine into our bedroom window and awaken us; and on the sun, which stays up until after 9 p.m., so that we don’t feel like going to bed until midnight; and on the people from the pubs, who feel the need to sing Rule Britannia at the top of their lungs at 3 in the morning.
We thought we’d be smart and get a good flat: one with sunshine. We’re gradually realizing that the never-ending sunshine can be traumatic.
Some day we’ll do some baking again. Heck, we’ve done some baking, but it’s all been very utilitarian (e.g., plain, brown bread). We made hummus this morning, but how photogenic is hummus?
Since I’ve wrapped up the school year, pretty much, I’m just left with writing up notes from what I’ve read, and writing up my literature-review-chapter. That’s going to take me a few weeks, during the summer. Then … then it’s on to more school. Perhaps, in 2.5 years, I’ll get back to baking for fun, eh? Until then: it’s baking for what we need.
I invested in large black poster boards and velcro to block out my cheery eastern windows!
Hmmm…

I bought a bambo shade for my kitchen window so that I am not scorched as I stand there to work.
The sun changes at different times of the year so maybe as the seasons wear on, it will reflect differently and other times. I know it does in these parts.
Shhhh, don’t tell the sun! We’ve been experiencing autumn weather just when we got used to brilliant sunshine…
I think things come and go in waves… heck I haven’t picked up my looms in forever but I know they are there when I get the urge (and the time) 🙂
