Every now and again, D takes it into his head to go walking around Glasgow, taking pictures. Usually this involves simply walking to school, but the other day he decided to detour via the library. Well, he made it to the library to drop off his book, but had to turn right back home after that because he’d made the mistake of Showing An Interest.
The picture to the left is a former church which has been converted to flats – quite a novelty, from our perspective. We’ve often remarked on this phenomena, and upon this church in particular as it’s right on our way to the library. So, D figured he’d take some nice pictures of the place. While he’s taking pictures – with his monopod all in place, his big lens attached so he can get the gargoyles and everything – there’re a couple of guys watching him. After he’s taken a couple of pictures, they strike up a conversation, telling him about what nice flats they are. The conversation eventually dies, with the guys going back into the building, and D moving off to find something else of interest … only to be called back by one of the guys. He hands D two framed 8×10 pictures of the place, “Take these back to the States with you!”
T says that they’re from the common hallway or stairway or something. Could be, or this could just be Scotland.
