In Retrospect: August 22

Why were we at the Glasgow Airport, 1 year ago? Did anybody come visit us? We have NO idea, but … well, the most “off” our camera’s timestamp has been by 8 hours, and that’s because we forgot to shift the thing to California Time. Who knows? Tell us about it, if you remember, ’cause we certainly didn’t write about it anywhere.

It seems that August 22 is all about travel, for us: a year ago we were at the airport in Glasgow, 9 years ago we were on an Alaskan Cruise, and 10 years ago we were taking a bay cruise on the Grand Romance Riverboat (which used to give cruises around Suisun Bay, near San Francisco, but has since moved to Long Beach, CA). We visited Fentiman’s on the way back home, after that cruise, and niece F. ate her weight in iced cream.

This year … August 22 is about staying home, perhaps enjoying a game or two of Scrabble, looking out the window … and preparing to ice a cake, for a lunch-party tomorrow, with one of D’s professors. His professor has been helping to get a program up and going in Malawi. T just says, “bugs.” There ought to be some good pictures, though.

  1. Could it be a photo from my visit that you posted in August when you were commenting on funny signs? I remember "No tipping" and something about dogs and parks and poop. By the way – isn't it Fenton's? Mmm. I'm suddenly hungry.
