That is so funny, although I have noticed subtitles on tv sometimes when there are glaswegians making commentary.
(When we had a TV) We've seen that too! How crazy it is that they assume people they're interviewing for the news are speaking a foreign language!? Unless they're older and not wearing their teeth (!), on the news at least most people can be well understood. Maybe the translation is for visitors.
Or, maybe I've been here too long.
Just the other day I caught a show about an American buying a home in Edinburgh. They subtitled everything the Scots said – and that wasn't even Glaswegian.
My kinda job. Wish I could apply for it. 😉
