Christmas Already?

It’ll certainly feel like it this afternoon, as I unpack 5 or 6 skeins of yarn and can get back to working on my aran-esque sweater, and can gift TadMack with some lovely plush, chunky chenille yarn. So, this week will be a week of gifts, perhaps, as the new oven comes in on Wednesday!

That said, I should be able to work for a bit, right? To concentrate upon the inanities known as writing a specification? Unfortunately, hibernation-brain cometh early this year … along with lack of enthusiasm. Sigh.

An update as to pricing of the Cool Wool: The U.S. site bumped up their prices to $80 for 10 balls (1/2 a kilogram). The E.U. site still has their individual balls for €3.95 ($5.09), and their 1 KG boxes (of 20 balls) for €79.00 ($101.81). So … let’s see … that’d make the U.S. price $160, for an equivalent to the E.U. site’s price at $101.81. Guess which site (which raised its prices in the last two days!) is NOT going to get my business?

  1. Are they kidding?? Raising the price within the last two days? Did they see you coming?!

I’m REALLY sorry that the yarn is the wrong thickness. All that waiting for nada.

Never mind buying in bulk right now anyway… let’s buy new kitchen stuff for ya… don’t you want a pasta roller or something easy???

  2. I’m sulking. I do not want the entire set of pasta cutters for the Kitchenaid. I just want the roller, but I can’t find it on sale anyplace any more. Sulk.

I’m also sulking because of the bloody stupid yarn people sending me the wrong weight of yarn … but I must say that I AM getting faster at knitting the other project, so it’s all working out.

We’ll see how snarky I have to be in the morning to get them to take it back & give me the right yarn. Perhaps we won’t see – I’ll call them from downstairs so you don’t have to witness the carnage.

  3. I see all your whining did you not a bit of good. You’re losing your touch.

Methinks Christmas came again today with the teas, coffees and suchlike. Yum. We should probably keep me away from online buying if we want to actually finance the remodel at some point someday…

  4. The company will take it back. It just costs more to ship the stupid yarn than I paid for it in the first place.

Man does not live by bread alone. Coffee and Tea must figure in there somewhere.
