Elle of Feeding My Enthusiasms has included me in a meme, which is a little more than twenty random bits of errata about my life. Some of these really made me laugh — and made me realize I need to get out a bit! Anyway, without further ado:
Twenty Plus Questions:
1) LAST MOVIE YOU SAW IN A THEATRE?
Uh… I think it was The Incredibles. Oh, no, wait. It was Transformers. [This should tell you volumes about my movie-going. a.) I tend to prefer children’s movies or cartoons b.) I don’t go to movies very often.]
2) WHAT BOOK ARE YOU READING?
Yikes. This one is difficult, because I tend to read three books at a time. I review books for a few publishing companies. On the bedside table now are Helen Hemphill’s THE ADVENTUROUS DEEDS OF DEADWOOD JONES — about a young African American cowboy, what’s not to love?; AT FACE VALUE – a retelling of the Cyrano de Bergerac tale, only he’s now a she, and seventeen; OUT OF THE WILD — a modern day mishmash of fairytales, good fun.
3) FAVORITE BOARD GAME?
Definitely Scrabble or Taboo
4) FAVORITE MAGAZINE?
The magazine of fascinating randomness — mental_floss
5) FAVORITE SMELLS?
Definitely the smell of lavender, followed closely by rosemary and …coffee. Which I prefer to smell than to drink.
6) FAVORITE SOUNDS?
Always the sound of the sea.
7) WORST FEELING IN THE WORLD?
Definitely airway obstruction — being unable to breathe.
8) WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU THINK OF WHEN YOU AWAKEN?
Wonder how late it is, and how fast I can whip up breakfast and pack a lunch.
9) FAVORITE FAST FOOD PLACE?
It’s been awhile for the fast food — if coffee counts, I’ll say Coffee Catz right now, because they have a slushy coffee dessert-y drink I’m going to be craving for the next six months.
10) FUTURE CHILD’S PET’S NAME?
We were thinking Gosling or Penelope. But it really depends on the animal. Who else would have named a snake ‘Willful?’ Except he really is…
11) FINISH THIS STATEMENT—’IF I HAD A LOT OF MONEY I’D……
I’d pay off my school bills! And probably everyone else’s! And then, my house. And then I’d start a fund so that I could invest and use the money to fund summer camps for low income or homeless kids or cooking school/after school programs, etc. Don’t get me started…
12) DO YOU DRIVE FAST?
Apparently, yes, except when I’m singing, and then I am told I drive like an elderly person. No tickets yet, so I’ll keep singing, thanks. On the other hand, we sold our cars, so no tickets at all anymore. Whew!!
13) DO YOU SLEEP WITH A STUFFED ANIMAL?
No. However, there was a stuffed moose above the bed, at one point.
14) STORMS–COOL OR SCARY?
Very cool. I can’t say I’ve been scared yet, which is probably quite foolish.
15) WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST CAR?
A little blue pop can on wheels: A two-door Toyota.
16) FAVORITE DRINK?
Orange spice tea, herbal, and plain old Peach Iced Lipton.
17) FINISH THIS STATEMENT-IF I HAD THE TIME I WOULD…
Goodness. I feel like I have all the time in the world at this point in my life. If I had more time I’d see more people and have time to rest more in between, I guess.
18) DO YOU EAT THE STEMS ON BROCCOLI?
Actually, YES. If you trim the tough outer skin, the core of a broccoli stem is sweet and tender.
19) IF YOU COULD DYE YOUR HAIR ANY OTHER COLOR, WHAT WOULD BE YOUR CHOICE?
I’ve always leaned toward fuchsia highlights.

What is this ‘watching’ thing of which you speak? We’ve come to play, baby. Okay, honestly? Curling. I really, really, really like to watch curling. And someday, I’m going to play… look out, Canadians.
22) ONE NICE THING ABOUT THE PERSON WHO SENT THIS TO YOU?
Elle at Feeding My Enthusiasms has a really nice looking blog – a really cute hat, and a really funny husband. She also has a knack for making Blogger do what she wants. She has also never had a Daring Baker ‘flop,’ ever — even if something isn’t quite right to her, it still looks good. Okay, that was five; fine, I can’t count. It’s early.
23) WHATS UNDER YOUR BED?
An incredibly long drawer. And my gym clothes.
24) WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE BORN AS YOURSELF AGAIN??
But of course!
25) MORNING PERSON OR NIGHT OWL?
Morning. Early.
26) OVER EASY OR SUNNY SIDE UP?
*shudders* Neither!
27) FAVORITE PLACE TO RELAX?
At home — just about anywhere at home. Our house is overrun by floor pillows.
28) FAVORITE PIE?
Key Lime or Meyer lemon, no meringue.
29) FAVORITE ICE CREAM?
Hm. Depending on where it comes from. If it’s from Fenton’s, it’s Rocky Road. If it’s from 31 Flavors, it’s Pralines & Cream. If it’s homemade, it’s that avocado, lime and ginger thing we did last summer — which was truly tasty, even if we need to fiddle with the base notes there. So, it really depends… What’s weird is that I don’t eat ice cream that much. Probably too picky…
