Transition

Well, folks, the dissertation is done. I won’t find out how I’ve done until October, but I’m fairly certain that it’s going to be just fine. I turned it in on Monday, worked a few days, and then took off to spend a few days in Largs, at the Tigh An Struan B&B. We pretty much just spent time chatting with the owners’ son (who happens to be a coworker of mine), and … sleeping. We did a bit of walking about, but mostly we’re just happy to have gone somewhere, seen a bit of the sea, and to have come home.

It’s still difficult to get my mind around the fact that the year is done, and that I don’t have anything I’m required to read! And that I have a whole weekend in front of me, in which I don’t have to do anything in particular!

In front of me now are only things like home chores such as finally finishing the organizing of everything. I have a whole week … and then it starts over again. For another 3 years.

So, here’s to a restful week or two!

  1. Sounds like the perfect outing for the end of the term. Enjoy the reading for fun! (It always takes me a bit to learn to read without a highlighter in hand!)
