All Moved!

All this stuff – and much more – is now sitting in the middle of the living room in our new flat. We’ve cleaned, and now comes the daunting task of trying to unpack with only three days before we leave for the States. We figure that we’ll probably end up leaving most of the boxes where they are, we’re that worn out from the move.

Our home internet connection isn’t working, and won’t be until we return. It was a question of them giving us a new telephone number, with which DSL would have taken 5 days, or of keeping our old number and having DSL take 21 days. Since either time period would see us already in the US … we opted to keep the number. The upshot of this, though, is that we’re back to visiting the library for connectivity. Oh, well – it’s now only 1 block from our home!

I don’t expect we’ll be posting much this week, nor possibly for the rest of the month, except to share the occasional picture. Fear not, though – we plan to take lots of pictures!

  1. oh how painfully familiar that picture looks! I’ve quit counting how many times I’ve shoved my life into boxes! And I hear you on the trek to the library for internet connection.

    Happy trails!!

  2. One of my professors said in a lecture once that men don’t bake. Little does he know…

I am intrigued by your offer of sharing a sourdough starter. I’ve been wanting to try to make some for a while– only problem is, our fridge is so darn small (think of one of those one-can drink coolers- about half of that). How much space does it (/he/she – my mom used to have a starter called Herman) take up?

We’re all rss-ed up to your blog now, so we’ll be watching your movements closely over the coming months. Not to make you paranoid or anything. 🙂

  3. The starter’s name is Sadie! And your fridge sounds a lot like ours… it’s just in a small jar on the door, doesn’t take up too much room, but it WILL mean you have to bake at least once every ten days or so, or Sadie gets sulky…
