Well, poo. Apparently the venue did not broadcast our concert, and those of you who wanted to watch, we’re sorry to have gotten your hopes up. We managed to record the rehearsal, but didn’t get a recording of the performance, and several people have contacted us to say that broadcasting cut out right before the performance began. This is odd, as the webcams in the chapel are set to broadcast all of the time, 24×7. D. is off to speak with the chaplaincy this morning, as they are responsible for the running of the chapel, to see whether a recording can be obtained.
Meanwhile, this is a week of Big Doings. It seems the lady from whom we rent this lovely flat would like it back, and so we are once again house-hunting, and casting a weary eye over our many books and possessions — notably fewer possessions each and every time we move, but still: We have So. Many. Books. Fortunately, at this point, a good third of them belong to the University library.
Last night we walked back from the concert — D. in full tuxedo, drawing admiring (READ: drunken) commentary from passers-by, and T. in a thin black velvet blazer and slacks — and we realized that we were wearing neither scarves, hats nor coats, nor were we freezing to death or being drenched.
Of course, as of this morning it’s rained about six inches to make up for that anomaly, but for just a moment, we thought… Hey! It’s warmish.
Hope springs eternal.

It figures. Just when you get the heater and oven back in working order the owner wants it back. I’m so sorry to hear. Good luck finding the next place and I hope it is perfect to begin with!
re the comment on my blog – you guys also have an excuse, GLaswegian isn’t YOUR mother tongue ;0) –
Oh NO! Good luck house hunting. There must be some home finding saint that you can pray to!
And we are having warmish weather too! Today I walked with my hat in hand and my down parka unzipped! Spring is only a month away 😉
(But it was VERY sunny!)
LOL! You mean it wasn’t even broadcast? Oh, well. 😉
Good luck house hunting.

The weather forecast says it’s supposed to be dry and warmish for the next five days. I’m hopeful, but skeptical.
Mayhaps the next concert will be aired. Best of luck on the house hunting. oy.
I’d happily trade you some of our heat for some of your cold, but my students would just turn the heating on again…
What a drag that you have to hunt for another place to live again! I know all to well what this feels like. Hope it’s not too much of a hassle.
Yikes…after having no heat and dealing with the construction, now you’re asked to step out.
Uncanny!
I hope you find something soon that is all in working order.
One day this will all be grist for the mill in some book you write, right? Hope the house hunting goes quickly! Spring is official as of today. Hope the weather gods know that and act accordingly.
