What Makes Home?

Lynedoch Crescent D 186

As we look back at pictures of past years, all mashed together with those of the current year, we realize that we used to get out and about more, here in Glasgow. Some of that change is just that D. really does need to study more, but most of that change is because we’ve finally settled in for a bit: we’ve made a home of the place, rather than just … planning for when we’d go back to California.

What makes a home, to us? Cacti definitely count towards making a home. They certainly don’t grow here, and are sold in little packs of three, at That Swedish Store. Ours are keeping our kokopellis happy, giving us a little corner of the Southwest, in an otherwise rainy world.

  1. Right now it's 9°C / 49°F, with a predicted high of 12°C / 53°F. I think that we'll most likely miss Scotland when the days are much hotter or colder than today. 🙂

  2. I was in a restaurant where the table centre decoration was a line of well grown cacti.

    I'll post a photo when I get a moment.

    Fine photograpy, btw.
