Snow

Though these streets show a road already salted, higher up toward the university, the snow was still falling, and was actually sticking.

There is something to be said for being the first set of footprints through the snow in the park in the morning. Listening to the squeak of our footsteps, and the alarmed pips of the tiny birds darting in the dimness, for a moment, the park felt like another country.

Especially on the way home, we were glad for our Petzl Anti-Slip Plus Crampons. The walk to the gym would have been deadly without them: we were fascinated by the patterns of footprints in the show, many of which showed signs of the person having slipped.

D. is off to see if the snow stuck at all, and will hopefully bring more pictures home this afternoon. Happy Monday!

We’re hoping that the guys from Scottish Water are finished with their digging the hole, and can be about filling it back in. We’re sorry for them, though, whichever the case may be, because the expected high today is 1 degree above freezing – which means that it’ll be icy in that pit!

  1. Nicole mentioned snow that actually stuck. And a lot of people not knowing how to deal with snow. Accidents of many kinds are common. You were smart to get the no slip slip ons

  2. There is something to be said about the first set of foot prints. Usually in the morning, early morning, my dogs’ and my footprints are the only ones to be seen when it snows outside. They’re the first prints for a little while, that is.
